Description

They say those closest to death have more
wisdom because they’re at the edge of the
abyss, what does that say about dumb old
me? Gotten close and stepped back at least
twice now. Head on fire, mind broken by the
strain of keeping it together, they applaud
those who manage to stay here, do you
know what courage it takes to step into
oblivion? To go knowingly into the
unknown?? I ask because I lack that
courage. I do not hate those who have joy, I
do resent them though because how do
they find the brightness in this burning hell?
How do they wake up with hope in their
hearts? I haven’t felt this in two decades yet
I’m not up to three, the only bright parts I
can see are on my paper, created by the
patterns of my ink. I often wonder if I hold
onto this darkness because it’s all I know or
because it’s the only thing that knows me…..
